Congratulations to the Cougar Grapplers remained undefeated in the NLL last evening with a 42-22 victory over Maumee. Victorious for the Cougars were Lucas Krauss, Jake Sowders, Kyle Stout, Tanner Ruiz, Spencer Boyer, Jared Grunberg, Bryce Ibarra, Torrey Tarchius, and Luke Zastrow.
CougaReview tickets are on sale today during lunches and at the door - $8 for everyone. Come see Southview’s greatest tradition. Performances of The Grimm Adventures of Boy and Girl are tonight and tomorrow - February 3 and 4 - at 7:30 each evening and a 2:00 Matinee on Saturday.
The Cougarettes are competing in Regionals this Sunday at Anthony Wayne High School. They are in competition to go to States! They dance Sunday morning at 10:05, 10:30, and 10:50. Come out and show your support for Southview’s fantastic dance team!
Boys interested in playing on Southview’s outdoor lacrosse team this spring are reminded of our meeting this Sunday at 3:15 at the Sylvania Senior Center. Players and at least one parent are asked to attend. Any questions, please see Mrs. Yoshino in the guidance office.
Attention Seniors: Haven’t had time to send your application to The University of Toledo? Worried that you won’t receive UT’s Guarantee Scholarships? Don’t worry, it’s not too late! The University of Toledo will be accepting applications at Biggby Coffee @ Sylvania/McCord on Tuesday, February 7, from 2:30 to 7:30 PM. Also, any student who applies at the event will receive a free tall Biggby beverage of their choice! Qualified students will be instantly admitted to UT. Just bring your completed admission application, official high school transcript, and SAT/ACT scores. See your guidance counselor for further details, and don’t forget to stop and get your free drink!
There is a Gay Straight Alliance Meeting Monday after school. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served. The speaker will be here from Rainbow and we will be making our open house display.
Remember, if you are interested in being a STAMP mentor to 6th grade students, pick up your application in the main office and turn it in as soon as possible.
A reminder to all students taking the AMC10 or AMC12: The competition is scheduled for next Tuesday, February 7 after school. Please see your math teacher for your room assignment.
Senate members are reminded that there is a Senate Meeting Tuesday after school.
There is a Photography Club meeting after school Tuesday. Please attend if you want to learn about using a dark room. Don’t forget to bring $5 for supplies.
There will be a meeting after school in the theatre on Tuesday for all students interested in auditioning for the musical. Music will be taught Wednesday and Thursday.
Seniors needing help with the FAFSA should attend College Goal Sunday on February 12 at 2:00 at either Lincoln College of Technology or Owens Community College. This event is free. Register at www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org or call 1-800-233-6734. Brochures available in guidance.
Seniors, we are looking for your photos for the Senior Video. We would like 5 or 6 photos from every senior. They can be from kindergarten through senior year and group photos are encouraged. Photos should be emailed to diet6rich@bex.net with your name in the subject line. Or, photos can be placed in the box on the counter in the main office and should be labeled with your name (so they can be returned to you). The Senior Video will debut at the Senior Supper and will be available for purchase.
